At Ormond Anglican our desire is to put Jesus at the centre of our community:
… by bringing people to Jesus. God has truly blessed with a rich & vibrant community life. It’s a great place for young families to come to worship or join one of our many mid-week ministries. We have a growing youth ministry, which extends into local schools and a significant ministry to seniors. Our new buildings make it so much easier for new people to come in to see what is going on, when they do, they always find a warm welcome!
… by seeing Jesus transform peoples lives. We are always delighted to see God touch the lives of the people He brings us. This may happen in a deliberate way, through things like ‘Introducing God’, Home Group or the Alpha Marriage Course. It may happen ‘accidentally’ as people share their lives together but it is always cause for rejoicing as we see people set free from past hurts & bondages into the freedom Jesus died to bring them.
… by growing our personal faith. We do all we can to provide opportunities for our people to trust God with more of their lives. Regular Sunday Worship is a discipline we encourage, as is membership of a mid week small group. There are many opportunities to serve; extra help is always needed as our church community grows. We encourage our people to pray, read their Bible & give of their time & resources and encourage the exploration and development of people’s gifts and abilities.
… by demonstrating Jesus love to our community. We understand that most people begin their journey with Jesus by first meeting one of his followers. That is why we encourage our people to deliberately ‘take Jesus with them’ into their workplace, local community organizations and neighbourhoods. As a church community we have undertaken to give 10% of what we receive to Mission, locally, nationally & internationally. We value our links with the other local churches and regularly work together to reach out to our community.
